Business Spotlight - Cappy Stults
“My great grandfather and his uncle opened for business in Hightstown in 1881, next to the Baptist Church. In 1921 we moved to part of our current location. My daughter and son-in-law are the fifth generation to serve our community. When I started in the 1970s, I had to make a difficult decision. Many service businesses were locating in office parks and on the highways. I opened a branch in Monroe Township and came very close to moving out of town. Our clients are located throughout NJ and 9 states so location and modernization was more important for attracting employees than clients. Since then we have invested more than $1,000,000 in our property and over $250,000 to improving our town. Nearly half of our employees are Hightstown High graduates. We have many clients who are the fourth generation of their family to be insured with us. This only happens because we understand what they want, know what they need and as an “independent agent” we have unlimited choice of products for them. We are truly hometown folks, but with a countrywide reach. We are glad we stayed here.“
