		<title>Hoops and Soccer Shoot</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Hightstown Elks Lodge announces its Annual Hoop Shoot &#38; Soccer Shoot Saturday, June 9th from 1PM till 4PM Hoop Shoot is a &#8220;free-throw&#8221; contest.  Soccer Shoot is a goal/target scoring contest. Boys and Girls compete in various age brackets. Lodge Winners move on to District competition in the fall, and from there on to State and National levels where College Scholarship Prizes are available. 		<title>Leonard Ross Opening Reception at Mariboe Art Gallery</title>
		<description><![CDATA[Leonard Ross (1927-2008) was a distinguished photographer whose impressive documentation of Bethlehem Steel Company’s construction projects were exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He quickly displayed a true sensitivity for the medium in his earliest photographs of local subjects in New York City and central New Jersey. His mentor, the renowned artist Ben Shahn, imparted the valuable techniques that he used to warmly depict his subjects. This concern for the people he photographed was fostered by his membership in the Photo League, which he formally joined in 1947. 		<description><![CDATA[Saturday, June 9th from 12 to 4pm is our Inaugural Youth Appreciation Day at the Hightstown Elks Lodge Pavilion. This event is free and open to the public.
