If so, you should attend Uncovering Your Home’s History, a workshop that will be held on Sunday, February 26th from 1:00 to 3:00 at 164 North Main St. in Hightstown. Downtown Flowers
Spring is right around the corner, soon Hightstown will be in full bloom with hanging flower baskets adorning our downtown area. Many people mistakenly believe these baskets are funded by the borough, when in fact we partner with the Greater Hightstown-East Windsor Improvement Project (GHEWIP) to raise money each year to purchase them. Now in its tenth year, this effort entices people to stroll downtown and patronize our family-owned restaurants and businesses. This year’s project includes an additional 12 flower baskets for new lamp posts in the reconfigured Main Street parking lot. In order to support these improvements, we need your help! 33rd Annual Dollhouse and Miniature Show and Sale
The 33rd Annual Dollhouse and Miniature Show and Sale is set for Saturday, February 25th, 2012, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 320 North Main Street, Hightstown, NJ 08520. There will be lunch, snacks, raffle and door prizes. Event is sponsored by The Hightstown Woman’s Club. Donation $5 for adults; $2 for children under 12. $4.50 with ad.
Hurricane Irene Relief Efforts
THANKS TO SUPPORTERS OF HURRICANE RELIEF FUND We’d like to thank our generous community for the outpouring of support for our new Hurricane Relief Fund. Within hours of the devastating flooding of our downtown district, business owners and local residents had come together to help our town recover. As the water receded, dozens of volunteers showed up to assist with the cleanup effort, while Borough Clerk Debra Sopronyi coordinated volunteer efforts to help residents and business owners in every way possible. Fernando’s Grille chef/owner Fernando Suquilanda, along with his brother Marcello Suquilanda and manager Sean Willard, hosted a benefit buffet dinner just four days after the storm passed.
