An event to commemorate the 180th Anniversary of Camden & Amboy Railroad’s arrival in Hightstown is being jointly planned by the Hightstown-East Windsor Historical Society and (Hightstown-based) Camden & Amboy RR Historical Group. There will be historical presentations from 9am-noon; and a “railroadiana” show from 9am-4pm), at Hightstown High school. Youth Appreciation Day
Saturday, June 9th from 12 to 4pm is our Inaugural Youth Appreciation Day at the Hightstown Elks Lodge Pavilion. This event is free and open to the public. There will be activities for the kids, free hamburgers and hot dogs. We will honor our Student of the Months and award the Student of the Year for Hightstown High School. There will be youth bands and hopefully local radio stations will come and join in the fun located at 110 Hickory Corner Road in East Windsor (next to the WaWa). Rise to the TASK Free Community Dinner
Rise to the TASK Free Community Dinner from 4:30 to 6:00pm every Thursday. We are serving a hundred meals every week… with live music and wonderful home baked goods! Beginning on Monday, May 14th, 2012, the Hightstown Community Dinner will serve dinner every Monday night from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at the Presbyterian Church, located at 320 North Main Street.
“Through the Looking Glass” Spring Garden Tour
The Rocky Brook Garden Club is sponsoring a spring garden tour titled “Through the Looking Glass” on Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain or Shine. Advanced tickets will be $12. Children $5. Day of tour $15. Tickets will go on sale April 26. Tickets the day of tour will be sold at the HEW Historical Society, 164 North Main St. Hightstown.
