GHEWIP is an organization that is compromised of individuals of the community who represent corporate, small businesses, civic and institutional organizations of the greater Hightstown/East Windsor area. Their goal, as a non-partisan, non-profit, public-spirited organization, is to strengthen and improve the community, create goodwill, foster community, and other charitable, educational and scientific purposes. It was formally organized in 1992.

DowntownHightstown was originally formed through a subcommittee of the borough’s Economic Development Committee (EDC) and later, a subcommittee and project of GHEWIP.
